Angela is a highly experienced negotiation consultant, facilitator,and commercial mediator. Angela joined the CEDR family as an accredited commercial mediator in 2010, and set up her own negotiation consultancy business where she works with companies and senior individuals in developing their negotiation strategies and skills.
Angela gained much of her negotiation experience in large corporate organisations in London, Scotland, South Africa, France and the United States working as a Management Consultant for Accenture. She was head hunted to lead the operations of a large pension advisory firm in London, ran a significant change portfolio at Absa (part of the Barclays group), and prior to setting up her own consultancy, Angela was the Head of Procurement Operations for South African Breweries (one of the world’s largest brewers by volume with more than 200 brands and brewing interests; and distribution agreements in 75 countries across six continents). She is renowned for developing high-performing teams and has won a global award for her leadership and commitment to people development. Angela works closely with her corporate clients to develop their ADR processes, and negotiation strategies and skills. Her ability to excel in what she does is not only due to her excellent career history and experience, but is also underpinned by strong academic studies in finance and commerce. Further, Angela completed her thesis on a topic that spoke directly to her passion: understanding factors that affect negotiation outcomes. Angela is an Accredited Mediator with CEDR (UK), the Africa Centre for Dispute Settlement, a Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution (USA) and a Member of the International Association for Conflict Management. She holds an MBA from Graduate School of Business (University of Cape Town) and Anderson Business School (University of California, Los Angeles), and a BCompt from the University of South Africa.
