Despite her background in the exacting legal arena of High Court Commercial Litigation, Michelle is a passionate advocate of mediation. She has conducted her own law practice since 2015, specialising in commercial, contractual and employment law, with a client base that is comprised of both local and international corporations. Whilst she revels in the task of representing clients at Court or other fora, Michelle is an enthusiastic proponent of mediation.
Having obtained several internationally recognised qualifications (Conflict Dynamics/ ACDS, CEDR and London School of Mediation), Michelle is a highly regarded mediator and is renowned for her innovative, lateral-thinking approach.
In addition to her LLB degree (Stellenbosch University), Michelle completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Labour Law (NMU) and graduated summa cum laude in 2015.
Michelle also presides as a Part-Time Commissioner at the CCMA, where she has earned regard for her deft concilliatory skills and astute grasp of employment law. Although she has heard a vast quantity of complex disputes, none of her awards have been successfully reviewed.
Beyond her endeavours in the field of law, Michelle has authored and illustrated a children’s book and remains actively involved in the Iziko Lobomi Community Centre, situated in her hometown of Hout Bay.
