Professional background and experience: Prior to being admitted as an attorney in 1993, Liz worked as a litigation paralegal in London. After being admitted she practised (Edward Nathan & Friedland) and has experience in commercial litigation. She is also a qualified conveyancer. Currently she is a non-practising attorney. During the late 1990s, after she left practice, she lectured part-time in delict and negotiable instruments. More recently she spent four years lecturing property law and the law of succession. Liz was accredited by the South African Association of Mediators, in 2006. Since then, her main area of experience in mediation has been in divorce and family disputes. She is currently expanding her experience to other areas. She was accredited by Conflict Dynamics in 2023 and prefers a facilitative mediation style. Liz also participated in the Conflict Dynamics RAF mediation workshop in 2025 and is a member of SAMLA. Over the last decade she has sat on a variety of non-law related committees including Guild Cottage, the only specialised residential treatment centre for survivors of sexual assault in South Africa, where she was the legal officer. She is currently the secretary for the Gauteng Transplant Sports Association. |
