Professional background and experience: Tefo Raditapole is an accomplished legal policy advisor, dispute resolution specialist and an internationally accredited commercial mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR). Tefo served as special advisor to the Premiers of Gauteng Province for over a ten years and was a commissioner on the Commission for Employment Equity. He has been involved in the management and oversight of the Land Rights Management Facility managed by Cheadle Thompson & Haysom (CTH) for the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform. |

Other institutions he has consulted for include the International Labour Organization, International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa, the National Democracy Institute, and the Electoral Institute of Southern Africa. Tefo is also a co-author of Black Economic Empowerment: Commentary, Legislation and Charters (Juta). He has a BA (Law) from the National University of Lesotho in 1985 and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1988. Mediation experience and style: Tefo has mediated industrial and community disputes locally and regionally. He has mediated small and major disputes in the private and public sectors, including industry bargaining council and public sector wages and conditions of service negotiations. He has also conducted various industrial and electoral conflict management workshops throughout the Southern African Development Community region, East Africa as well as in Ghana and Ireland. Facilitation experience and style: Tefo has facilitated and co-facilitated major negotiations in the finance, transport, higher education, health and local government spheres, including five tertiary institution mergers, the Financial Sector Empowerment Charter and negotiations between municipalities in four provinces and their taxi industries on the Bus Rapid Transport system. He has also facilitated large-scale retrenchment consultation processes in the private sector, including gaming and mining industries. Tefo facilitates relationship building exercises for numerous major institutions in South Africa and Botswana. Chairing enquiries and investigations experience: Tefo has chaired and co-chaired commissions of inquiry in public and private entities involving, amongst others, allegations of mismanagement, sexual harassment, and bullying. Coaching experience and style: With thirty years of experience in mediation, facilitation, and training, Tefo is well placed to coach people to prepare for most dispute resolution processes and in his capacity as a coach on the Conflict Dynamics mediator skills Training course he is in a position to coach and mentor mediators.
