Professional background and experience:

Nonhlanhla is an accredited mediator trained by Conflict Dynamics and the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR). She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (majoring in Organisational

Psychology) and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Rhodes University. She currently manages the Western Cape offices of PVW Inc. Attorneys. Her professional background in civil litigation has given her greater appreciation of the cost, complexity, and emotional toll often associated with adversarial dispute resolution. Nonhlanhla’s mediation exposure includes matters in family, contractual, and insurance law. She has also been involved in complex multi-party mediations within labour, mining and environmental law sectors.

Mediation experience and style:

Drawing on an interest-based, mutual-gains approach, she supports mediation as an effective and first option to dispute resolution. While her mediation practice is developing, she adopts a facilitative mediation style guiding processes with empathy, fairness, and clarity. Guided by the principles of ubuntu, she recognises the value of the human resource and believes conflict, when constructively reframed, can present opportunities for understanding and collaboration with durable solutions for all. Nonhlanhla is particularly interested in applying mediation to general civil, commercial, and environmental disputes.
