Jodi Neu-Ner

Professional background and experience:

Jodi Neu-Ner is a director and co-founder of Mediating Matters, a specialist mediation practice she established alongside fellow mediator Pippa Leisegang. Jodi began her legal career at Bowmans, one of South Africa’s leading law firms, where she gained extensive experience in public sector, commercial, forensics, employment, and regulatory law. Her transition to mediation built on this strong legal foundation, and she is now recognised for her ability to blend legal insight with a highly practical, human-centred approach. Jodi works across a range of commercial and medico-legal disputes, with a special interest in Road Accident Fund (RAF) and clinical negligence matters, where she is known for handling technically complex and emotionally sensitive cases with professionalism and clarity. She has been actively involved in both the RAF and Gauteng Department of Health (GDHA) mediation pilot 

projects since their inception, and is respected by attorneys, advocates, and fellow mediators for her collaborative, calm, and ethically grounded style. Jodi holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Law, Management Accounting, and Finance) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), both from the University of the Witwatersrand. 

Mediation experience and style:

Jodi was accredited as a mediator by Conflict Dynamics and the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in 2020. She is also a member of the South African Medico-Legal Association (SAMLA). Jodi’s mediation style is professional, approachable, and solutions oriented. She works either independently or as part of a co-mediation team, and creates a safe, trusting environment for all parties involved. Known for her structured yet empathetic approach, she facilitates both in-person and online mediations. She maintains the highest standards of confidentiality and ethics throughout the process.
