Chris Todd will be in conversation with Judge Dennis Davis, exploring mediation and related topics.

They will be speaking about the suggestion that mediation belongs in areas of ‘soft law’, like family and labour law, and that it has little place in complex commercial disputes, which is what the High Court is there for.

In the context of rising backlogs of cases in many of the courts, mediation has been suggested as a possible solution. Are some disputes more suitable for mediation than others?  What makes commercial conflict different?
